On July 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the detention of the former commander of the 155th Brigade and other military personnel — a total of 10 people — in the case of the murder of two residents of the village of Kalynivka in Kyiv region. Before this, UNN confirmed in the Office of the Prosecutor General that the commander of the 155th Brigade, Stanislav Luchanov, had been detained.

The Military Law Enforcement Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine a day earlier reported that the former commander of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade and all currently identified participants in the crime have been notified of suspicion in the case of illegal deprivation of liberty and premeditated murder. Before this, the Operational Command "North" reported an investigation into the events involving the military of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade, noting that the commander had left service without authorization and was being sought.

The police said that they had notified an organized criminal group among military personnel of suspicion regarding the kidnapping, illegal deprivation of liberty, and brutal murder of two people.

According to the police, two brothers stopped making contact, and a few days later, law enforcement officers found their bodies buried in a forest strip in the Poltava region.

The police stated that it was established that "a verbal conflict arose between one of the brothers and a local resident the day before because the young men were loudly listening to music and riding motorcycles. In response to the reprimand, the brothers used obscene language. Later, the woman's husband, who is a military serviceman, demanded an apology to his wife, but the men refused in a rude manner." "Deciding to take revenge, the perpetrator involved other military personnel in the criminal plan," the police said.

According to the investigation, "the suspects entered the territory of the victims' household, using firearms, forcibly transported the two men by car to another region, illegally detained them for a long time, and then killed them."

According to data on the brigade's website, since February 2026, the commander of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade (military unit A5001) named after Anna of Kyiv was Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Luchanov. Until 2026, he held the position of chief of staff in the 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skelya."
