The corresponding agreement was signed by the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency. The new systems are to be adapted to the needs of the Estonian army.

Defense Express notes that the Chunmoo is capable of using not only CGR-080 rockets but also CTM-MR and CTM-290 ballistic missiles. The strike range of the latter can reach 290 km, which allows for threatening Russian military facilities near Saint Petersburg.

The publication draws particular attention to the possibility of using the CTM-ASBM anti-ship version of the missile. It potentially allows for striking ships of the Russian Baltic Fleet, particularly in the area of Kronstadt, which is located approximately 110 km from Estonian territory.

In addition to the Chunmoo, Estonia already has six American M142 HIMARS and recently ordered three more units. As a result, the country will receive 18 high-precision MLRS with the capability to use a wide range of weaponry—from guided rockets to short-range ballistic missiles.

Defense Express emphasizes that such reinforcement significantly increases the capabilities for deterring the Russian Federation in the Baltic region; however, the key issue for Estonia will remain ensuring a sufficient stockpile of ammunition.
