Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash: head of the Center for Countering Disinformation says the ship was shot down by a Russian air defense system

An Azerbaijani airline's Embraer 190 was shot down by a Russian air defense system through unclosed airspace over Grozny, Kovalenko claims. Shrapnel damage was found on the wreckage of the plane.
An Embraer 190 plane of the Azerbaijani airline flying from the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, to Grozny, Russia, was shot down by a Russian air defense system because Russia did not close the airspace over the city. This was announced by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, UNN reports.
"This morning, an Embraer 190 aircraft of the Azerbaijani airline flying from Baku to Grozny was shot down by a Russian air defense system. Russia was supposed to close the airspace over Grozny, but did not do so. The plane was damaged by the Russians and was sent to Kazakhstan instead of being urgently landed in Grozny and saving lives," Kovalenko said.

The Baza telegram channel reported that the crashed Embraer 190 had been flying for more than 50 minutes with control systems that failed.
Earlier it was known that the front part of the Embraer collapsed and caught fire, but the tail section remained intact.
According to the latest data, 32 people survived the plane crash. The investigation is ongoing.
The flight data recorder of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane was found at the crash site in Kazakhstan . Authorities also reported that there were no Kazakhs among the survivors, there were six of them.
At the crash site near Aktau, traces similar to shrapnel damage are found. Criminalists and civil aviation experts are investigating, questioning witnesses and analyzing the black box.
