An excavator, shooting and a destroyed fence: what happened near a house in Poltava

In Poltava, a conflict occurred over a walnut tree that was interfering with parking. A 40-year-old man on an excavator tried to take down the tree, destroyed the fence and opened fire with a traumatic weapon.
On December 16, at about 7 p.m., a conflict occurred on Semen Antonets Street in Poltava that required police intervention. According to locals, the incident arose over a walnut tree in the yard of an apartment building.
This was reported by local media and the press service of the police of Poltava region, according to UNN.

Investigators have now identified all the participants in the conflict. They are local men (40, 57 and 72 years old). All three participants in the conflict sustained injuries, the severity of which is currently being investigated
A criminal proceeding was opened under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Hooliganism).
Version of the residents who contacted the media
The head of the Zatyshok na Balakina condominium, Oleksandr Lytvynenko , told local journaliststhat the conflict began after one of the participants, 40-year-old Viktor Voloshyn, arrived with an excavator.
Voloshin is not registered in our house, but he often comes here to visit the same person. That evening, he arrived on an excavator, drunk, and tried to take down a walnut tree growing in the yard. According to Voloshyn, it was preventing him from parking his car near the house. During his maneuvers, he destroyed the fence that the residents used to protect the tree
After that, a quarrel broke out between the residents. According to eyewitnesses, Voloshyn pulled out a traumatic pistol and started shooting.
Residents of the house turned to the media, fearing that the incident might be hushed up, as Voloshyn holds a senior position in one of the region's municipal enterprises (head of the Regional Municipal Institution for Psychiatric Care of the Poltava Regional Council).
UNN asked the police for comment.
The police cannot yet confirm the cause of the conflict or details about the participants. The investigation is ongoing.
The local media tried to contact Voloshin himself for a comment, but so far without success.
