An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred in the Tonga Islands on November 11 at a depth of 195 km with an epicenter 134 km southwest of the city of Niafu.

The epicenter of the of the earthquake at a depth of 264.9 km was initially determined at 18.86 degrees south latitude and 175.54 degrees west longitude. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the southwest, 134 km from the town of Neyafu, which has a population of 4 300 people. According to official information, the depth of the center was 195 km.
Earlier, UNN reported that an emergency was declared in the Seychelles after a powerful explosion in an industrial area on the main island of Mahe, as well as floods.
