According to the Ukrhydrometeorological Center's stationary air monitoring stations on July 23, 2024, "the average daily content of nitrogen dioxide in Kyiv is approaching and exceeding the maximum permissible concentrations (MPC).
"During July 24-28, the content of nitrogen dioxide in the air will be at a critical level, exceeding 5 maximum permissible concentrations, which can negatively affect people's health," the hydrometeorological center said.
As stated, "hot, dry and low windy weather will contribute to the accumulation of other pollutants (sulfur dioxide and formaldehyde) in the surface air layer.
"The situation is expected to improve on July 29-30, 2024," the Hydrometeorological Center reported.
