The air composition was analyzed by the laboratory of the Sumy Regional Center for Hydrometeorology at night at 01:00 and at 07:00 in the morning.
"The study found that the maximum single concentration of dust was exceeded by 1.2 to 1.4 times. The rest of the studied indicators: sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and formaldehyde are normal," RMA said.
In addition, specialists from the Sumy Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine took air samples at five locations in Sumy. Only dust was found to be exceeded.
"Excessive concentrations of dust in the air can affect the health of Sumy region residents, in particular, cause breathing discomfort, especially in people with chronic respiratory and cardiovascular diseases," RMA said.
