A blackout occurred at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and the station switched to diesel generators, UNN reports, citing "Energoatom".
At 16:46, the "Ferrosplavna" power transmission line, which connected the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to the United Energy System of Ukraine, was disconnected. As a result of the loss of external power supply, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant switched to powering its own needs from diesel generators
As noted in "Energoatom", each case of loss of external power supply poses a threat to nuclear and radiation safety. Reliable power supply is critically necessary for the safe operation of the nuclear power plant and the operation of systems that ensure the cooling of nuclear fuel.

The only way to guarantee the safe operation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is its earliest possible return under the full control of Ukraine and its sole legitimate operator — JSC "NNEGC "Energoatom", capable of ensuring the safe and stable operation of the plant in accordance with international nuclear safety standards.
