Kyiv • UNN
The United States is providing Ukraine with significant military and economic support, including efforts to fight corruption and attract investment to strengthen Ukraine's democracy and economy.
Washington provides Ukraine with comprehensive support in the military and economic spheres. In particular, this includes assistance in overcoming corruption in the country. This is reported by the Voice of America with reference to the statement of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during the final press conference on the challenges and achievements of 2023, UNN reports .
Details
According to him, the United States is making efforts to help Ukraine "get back on its feet democratically, militarily, economically, and not just to deal with the current challenge that Russia continues to pose."
Of course, we are working to deepen democratic reforms to help Ukraine overcome corruption, which is essential for investment and for Ukraine to be a strong democratic state
The US Secretary of State emphasized that the United States and partners are helping Ukraine build a future in which it "can deter and defend against aggression."
We are actively working to attract much more investment to Ukraine, including for private sector activities, so that Ukraine can prosper economically. And in this we are making real progress
Addendum
The State Department assured us that Ukraine is already actively receiving foreign investment, and the tax base is growing. Thus Ukraine is increasingly able to pay for itself.
At the same time, Blinken assured that the United States will continue to rally countries around the world to "support Ukraine's freedom and independence and to make sure that Russia's aggression remains a strategic failure
As we move toward 2024, we will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with those who share our vision of an open, prosperous, and secure world, because that is what is in the best interests of the American people
Recall
In January, the US Congress will return to the issue of aid to Ukraine, and Schumer and McConnell will announce progress in the negotiations, but admit that there are still unresolved issues.
They are intended to address national security issues, including support for allies such as Ukraine after the crisis.
