Ukrenergo received the status of a full member of ENTSO-E

Ukrenergo will become the 40th full member of ENTSO-E on January 1, 2024, which will strengthen Ukraine's integration with the European energy sector and give it the right to vote in decision-making in the association.
NPC Ukrenergo became a full member of the Association of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. This means that Ukraine has become an integral part of the "energy European Union". This was reported by UNN with reference to "Ukrenergo".
This decision was made on December 14 by the supreme governing body of ENTSO-E, the General Assembly. From January 1, 2024, the Ukrainian power system operator will become the 40th member of the association
Details
It is reported, that Ukrenergo will have access to all the rights and obligations of a of a full member of ENTSO-E. Most importantly, it will have the right to vote during meetings of the General Assembly and the Board of ENTSO-E, i.e. it will influence strategic decision-making on the operation and development of the of the pan-European energy network.

It is noted that Ukrenergo's voice will be the fourth largest consumer in the energy system after France, Italy and Spain. In Germany there are four system operators that have an equal number of points in the voting.
The integration of the of the Ukrainian power system with the grid of continental Europe, and now the acquisition of NPC Ukrenergo's status as a full member of ENTSO-E marks the achievement of another another important milestone for Ukraine on its way to European integration. This is an important historic step that will significantly contribute to the energy security of Ukraine, sustainability of our power system, as well as the stability of electricity supply

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reported that due to the decision of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity of Electricity (ENTSO-E), Ukraine will be able to import 1.7 GW of of electricity.
