Ukraine will switch to summer time on March 30: clocks will be moved forward by one hour
Kyiv • UNN
On March 30 at 3:00 a.m., Ukraine will switch to summer time, moving the clocks forward by one hour. The relevant Cabinet of Ministers resolution has been in effect since 1996, despite attempts to abolish the transition.

Ukraine will switch to summer time on March 30 at 3:00 a.m., which means that clocks need to be moved forward by one hour, UNN reports.

The transition to "summer"/"winter time" is provided for by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution of 1996.
"To introduce the following procedure for calculating time on the territory of Ukraine: the time of the second time zone (Kyiv time) with the annual transfer of the clock hand on the last Sunday of March at 3 o'clock by 1 hour forward and on the last Sunday of October at 4 o'clock by 1 hour back," the document says.
Ukraine has tried to abandon the clock change more than once. However, they started talking about it especially actively since 2020, and in 2024, the Rada even adopted the corresponding draft law №4201.
After the blocking resolutions were rejected for its signing, the law was still sent to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has not yet signed it and, probably, is not going to.
In October, the BBC, citing sources, reported that President Zelenskyy was not going to sign the bill.

It should be noted that computers, smartphones and smartwatches will switch to the new time themselves, while old mobile phones and mechanical watches need to be "translated".
