Tax revenues from the tourism sector in Ukraine increased by 16% compared to 2021. The industry is recovering despite the destruction of infrastructure in the East and South, employing more than 1 million people.
For 9 months in Ukraine, there was an increase of 16% in taxes received from the tourism sector compared to 2021. This was announced by the chairman of the state agency for tourism development Mariana Oleskiv on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.
Today we see that there is an increase of 16% in 9 months of taxes received from the (tourism – ed.) sector compared to 2021. This was the first year since COVID-19 when the industry began to recover. We are already returning to these figures somewhere, which is a good indicator. But we see that the proportionality is certainly different, there is a significant drop in the east of our country, and there is also a drop in parts of the southern regions, for example, in the Kherson region
She noted that the industry is recovering, but unfortunately, in parallel with this, there are terrible destruction of part of the tourist infrastructure in the south and, of course, in the East.
Oleskiv added that according to Oxford Economics, more than 1 million people currently work in the tourism sector in Ukraine.

Oleskiv reported that green tourism in Ukraine is developing, but needs marketing. It is expected that the new law on tourism will contribute to its popularization by collecting information about all places of residence.
