The head of the UGCC said that the Pope's immediate plans do not include a visit to Ukraine in 2025. However, Francis may announce his arrival a month before the visit, as he “likes to make surprises.
The Pope has no immediate plans to visit Ukraine, in particular, in 2025. This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, in an exclusive interview with Radio Liberty, UNN reports.
The pope received an invitation to such a visit, and, according to Sviatoslav, the UGCC has assurances that it has been accepted, but it is unknown when the visit will take place.
"There is no time (for the visit - ed.) yet, but Pope Francis sometimes likes to make surprises. He can announce a visit literally a month before he decides to come to Ukraine. So we enter this new year with hope. With the hope that a just peace will eventually prevail in Ukraine," says the head of the Greek Catholic Church of the UGCC.
