Participants of the summit in Paris support the fact that Ukraine should maintain a strong army - Zelensky
Kyiv • UNN
Participants of the summit in Paris supported maintaining a strong army of Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized that the Russian Federation cannot dictate the number of Ukrainian military personnel, and this is the common position of all participating countries.

Russia cannot dictate the size of the Ukrainian army, and this is the common emphasis of all participants of the summit in Paris. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference, reports UNN.
The President Macron, Prime Minister (of Great Britain - ed.) Starmer, and other leaders are paying a lot of attention now to the future infrastructure of security guarantees for Ukraine. An important part of this infrastructure is our army, its financing, and strengthening. We are working on it, and this is the common emphasis of all countries, that Russia cannot dictate the size of our army, not now, not in the future. They cannot dictate the rules of protecting Ukraine
Zelenskyy noted that it is important that the Russians do not have support in this direction.
In Europe, we see that they have no support, in most countries, at least the entire coalition that gathered today, everyone in it supports that Ukraine should maintain a strong army, one that is resisting the Russian invasion today. It is important that the same attitude is in the USA, so today's meeting also sends such a signal to the USA and others
Addition
Zelenskyy reported that one of the most important issues that Russian President Vladimir Putin will raise at the negotiations is the reduction of the Ukrainian army.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the summit in Paris discussed how to strengthen sanctions to support the US initiative to bring Russia to the negotiating table through further pressure, as well as further military and operational plans to support any ceasefire and peace in Ukraine "on the ground, in the air or at sea," British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said after the summit.
Representatives of 31 countries took part in the summit.
