OP on Economist article about elections in July: there was no such meeting or Zelenskyy's instruction

There was no meeting regarding the organization of elections in Ukraine after a complete ceasefire in the summer. This was reported by BBC Ukraine with reference to sources in the President's Office and the government, UNN reports.

Details

Several sources of BBC Ukraine in the government and the President's Office indicated that the publication's material contains fake or manipulative information.

First of all, there was no such meeting (regarding the holding of elections in July. - ed.)" and there was no such instruction (to the team to organize elections. - ed.)

- a source in the President's team said.

The interlocutor in the government also indicated that now the main issue is achieving peace and saying that preparations for elections are already underway is completely incorrect.

After all, there is little hope for the end of the war before Easter.

Context

The Economist, citing sources in the Ukrainian government, reported that last week Zelenskyy convened a meeting to instruct his team to organize a vote after a complete ceasefire, which, according to the Americans, could be introduced by the end of April. The authors indicate that sources differ on the exact timing, "but most say that Zelenskyy is aiming for the summer."

In March, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that elections in the country would be held after the end of the war.
