The Georgian police have carried out a series of searches and detentions targeting representatives of opposition parties and activists. Among the detainees are Nika Gvaramia, founder of the Mtavari TV company and leader of the For Change movement, and activist Gela Khasaya, a member of the opposition coalition. This was reported by UNN with reference to Novosti Georgia.

Searches in the offices of opposition parties

The security forces entered the office of the youth organization of the United National Movement party, as well as the office of the coalition "For Change". The leader of the coalition, Nika Gvaramiya, said that the police tried to conduct a search, but, not having the appropriate documents, left the premises after a few minutes.

Pressure on activists

Police visited the home of Ilya Glonti, the administrator of the Facebook group Daitove, which was created during the protests against the law on foreign agents. This group became a platform for self-organization of protesters. Glonti's house was also searched.

Detention of opposition leaders

TV Pirveli reports that police detained Gvaramia, leader of the Ahali organization and the Coalition for Change. According to them, he was beaten during the detention. Another source - IPN agency - reports that the conflict began near the office of the Droa party, where Gvaramia demanded access to the premises as an official observer.

Law enforcement officers also detained a member of the "Coalition for Change", Gela Hasaya.

The founder of the Dafioni student movement, Zviad Tsetskhladze, was also arrested.

Saba Buadze, a deputy of the opposition Lelo party, reported on the detention of Vepho Kasradze and Vaso Kadzelashvili, members of the opposition coalition.
