Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced his intention to remove WhatsApp and switch to Telegram and WeChat. He accused WhatsApp of being used to threaten Venezuela.

Nicolas Maduro has promised to permanently abandon the use of WhatsApp and switch to Telegram and WeChat. This was reported by Venezolana de Television, UNN reports.

"I will cut off my relationship with WhatsApp because WhatsApp is being used to threaten Venezuela. I will permanently delete the WhatsApp app from my phone. Gradually, I will transfer my contacts to Telegram and WeChat," Maduro said at the rally.

Earlier, Nicolas Maduro accused TikTok and Instagram of inciting hatred in the country. He noted that videos calling for the use of violence against supporters of the current government of Venezuela were widely circulated on TikTok.
