Jürgen Klopp is negotiating with the German Football Association about being appointed head coach of the national team after Nagelsmann's resignation. The specialist is ready to work, but needs detailed negotiations due to the contract with Red Bull.

Former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he is in talks with the German Football Association regarding a possible appointment as head coach of the national team. This is reported by The Guardian, reports UNN.
Details
The talks began after Germany national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann resigned four days after the team's elimination from the World Cup, where the Germans lost to Paraguay on penalties in the round of 32.
Klopp himself confirmed that the federation approached him with an offer to lead the team.
"Julian resigned, and the federation is working on finding a successor. As part of this process, they approached me," Klopp said.
At the same time, the specialist emphasized that a decision will not be made quickly, as he is bound by a contract with Red Bull, where he works as head of global football.
According to Klopp, before a possible appointment, detailed negotiations regarding the future of the national team and its development are necessary.
"Intensive negotiations are needed to agree on key points and understand exactly how we will change the team. But after I left Liverpool two years ago, saying I had no more energy, now I can say: I am more than charged, I am ready," he stated.
Klopp has not worked as a coach since 2024, when he left Liverpool after eight seasons. With the English club, he won the English Premier League and the Champions League.
The German Football Association (DFB) also confirmed that Klopp is the priority candidate for the position of the new national team coach. The future coach will face the task of carrying out a large-scale renewal of the team, which for the third consecutive time failed to get past the first knockout stage of the World Cup. The last time the German national team won a World Cup knockout match was in the final of the 2014 World Cup against Argentina.
