It's pure populism: how the Servant of the People party reacted to the idea to disband the TCC

Oleksandr Fediyenko, a member of the National Security Committee, stated that it was impossible to reform the TCCs and JVs for objective reasons. He emphasized the need to develop a recruitment system instead of reforming the territorial centers.
Reforming the system of territorial centers for recruitment and social support (TSC and SS) is impossible, according to a member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Oleksandr Fediyenko (Servant of the People faction). He said this in a commentary to Radio Liberty on November 14, UNN reports.
"I believe that the idea of disbanding or reducing the TCC is pure populism, nothing more. We can neither reduce nor reform it now. There are objective reasons for this. First, they have already been reformed. There are still soldiers in the TCC who are either wounded or have physical limitations. In addition, when they are constantly being reformed, they do not have time to physically gain capacity. This immediately affects the effectiveness of mobilization," said a representative of the ruling faction.
According to Oleksandr Fediyenko, "we need to popularize the history of recruiting more, but do it in a way that makes recruiting work with a guarantee.
"That is, when a person liable for military service joins a military unit through the recruitment model, he must clearly understand that he will be there. It should not be that after the BWC (combat military coordination) he gets to be a grenade launcher or machine gunner. This should not happen. This would negate the very appeal of the recruitment mechanism. And, of course, it should be left to the military units to have their own medical examinations or to conclude an agreement with medical institutions that conduct the relevant medical examinations," says Fediyenko.
According to the MP, in this way, the efficiency of recruiting persons liable for military service will gradually shift to recruiting, and the TCCs will implement the general policy of the state regarding persons liable for military service.
Addendum
In April of this year, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk, Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that most of the employees of the TCC were yesterday's soldiers, whom everyone admired and was proud of.
"Servicemen and veterans are not beggars or agitators. They are people who have fulfilled their constitutional duty. We have no right to allow them to feel guilty, unnecessary or dangerous in front of those whom they literally saved their lives," Pavliuk said in April, commenting on the harassment of a TCC employee.
He also acknowledgedthat the TCC system is not perfect and stated that work is underway to improve it.
However, since then, the number of scandals related to the work of the TCC has not decreased.
