Iran has stated that it will not open the Strait of Hormuz until the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon. The country also demands permits to sell its oil on international markets.

Iran does not plan to open the Strait of Hormuz until a ceasefire in Lebanon is ensured. This was reported by Reuters, citing the Iranian news agency Tasnim, writes UNN.

According to the publication, the corresponding statement was made by a source close to the Iranian negotiating team participating in consultations with the United States in Switzerland.
In addition to the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, Iran demands permission to sell its oil on international markets.

The agency's interlocutor also emphasized that the strategic waterway will remain closed until exceptions are granted allowing the export of Iranian oil.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the key routes for global energy trade. About one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas supplies pass through it.
