IMF transfers $1.1 billion to Ukraine: where will the money go

Ukraine has received the sixth tranche of the IMF's $1.1 billion EFF program. The total amount of funds received from the IMF under this program reached $9.8 billion.

Ukraine has received $1.1 billion from the IMF. This is the sixth tranche under a joint program under the EFF Extended Fund Facility. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, reports UNN.

“The funds have already been transferred to Ukrainian accounts and will be used to finance critical budget expenditures,” Shmyhal wrote.

According to Shmyhal, Ukraine has already received $9.8 billion from the IMF under this program.

Recall

On November 11, the leadership of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine, and experts of the International Monetary Fund began discussions on the sixth revision of the Extended Fund Facility program.

On December 20, it was reported that  the IMF had approved a new tranche of $1.1 billion for Ukraine.
