French military expert: Ukraine has an innovative advantage in the war

Russia today is not demonstrating new ideas, either in defense technologies or in army organization and warfare. Instead, Ukraine is demonstrating an innovative advantage. This was stated on the TV channel LCI by Colonel and military consultant Michel Goya, reports UNN

"In fact, the Russians no longer have new ideas. That's exactly what happened – they have no new ideas. They had ideas, they invented things: they invented, for example, fiber-optic controlled drones, they began using aerial bombs – old bombs fitted with guidance kits, and this causes very severe damage. They introduced the practice of paying infantrymen seven times the average salary. Undoubtedly, these were changes, but now there are no new ideas from the Russian side," Goya believes.

The military consultant believes that Ukraine currently has the upper hand in terms of innovation.

"The Ukrainians are truly in a process where everything is 'boiling,' they are inventing. If you look technically, the company Fire Point is an absolutely incredible company that is now working on creating, for example, an analogue of the Patriot missile and becoming completely autonomous in terms of interceptors. Also, ideas for transforming the army itself, its structure, the distribution of army corps, and headquarters. All contracts for infantry are being rethought, and so on. So from the Ukrainian side, there are undoubtedly ideas and innovations, and for now, the trend is still on Ukraine's side," the expert believes.

Such a statement by the expert once again confirms what the West has already started talking about – modern warfare has changed, and numerical superiority no longer guarantees victory – the advantage lies with those who can quickly adapt and apply technologies that allow for the rapid creation of effective and relatively cheap weapons.

Fire Point CEO and CTO Iryna Terekh, on the air of the French channel LCI, also stated that Ukraine is forced to fight in asymmetric conditions, as it is opposing the Russian military machine, which is reinforced by technologies from Iran and China. Under such conditions, it is necessary to act quickly, constantly seeking new technological solutions.

Ukraine also initiated the creation of a pan-European anti-ballistic shield – Freyja. The basis of this air defense system is the Ukrainian ballistic interceptor missile FP-7.x, created by the Ukrainian manufacturer Fire Point. It is called an analogue of the American Patriot PAC-3 system. However, Ukrainian missiles are significantly cheaper – their price is expected to be around 700 thousand dollars per unit, compared to 3.8 million dollars for one American missile.

The FP-7.x, during a recent test reached a flight altitude of 25 kilometers, which is comparable to the performance of the Patriot system.

On June 16, the German radar system manufacturer Hensoldt joined the project to create the pan-European anti-ballistic shield Freyja.

According to information from open sources, Freyja will include, in addition to German long-range detection radars, an illumination and guidance radar, the Weibel GFTR-2100/48 or Leonardo KRONOS Land. The command post will be based on the Norwegian Kongsberg Fire Distribution Center system. One of the key features of the system will be an open architecture and the use of Network Access Nodes modules, which will allow the integration of additional solutions and components.

Data exchange between all elements of the complex will be carried out via the tactical Link 16 channel, standardized according to STANAG 5516. It is this protocol that should ensure the integration of Freyja into the existing air defense system of Ukraine and other European countries.
