It is noted that since the end of August, UN health and child protection agencies have been calling for seven-day pauses in the fighting in the Gaza Strip to vaccinate Palestinian children against polio.
They said the polio virus was detected in the sewage of two major cities in Gaza last month, which, according to the UN, has been polio-free for the past 25 years.
