Turkey, which is the second-largest buyer of gas from Gazprom, is negotiating new supply agreements with the Russian company as existing contracts expire. At the same time, Ankara seeks to establish itself as a regional gas hub, but this ambition may be complicated by deepening energy ties with Russia. Meanwhile, Turkish officials have made it clear that replacing Russian supplies is impossible overnight - neither from an economic standpoint nor in terms of available resources
