Ekaterina Kuzmina: environmental trends in packaging are the key to sustainable development of the beer industry

The industry conference "drinks of Ukraine" in Kiev brought together more than 200 participants of the beverage market. The representative of AB InBev Efes Ukraine presented innovative approaches to ecological packaging and processing in the beer industry.
On November 14, 2024, the annual industry conference "drinks of Ukraine" was held in Kiev — one of the key events for the beverage market, which brought together more than 200 participants. The conference was attended by representatives of leading companies, in particular "ITAK", "Esarom Ukraine", "Bioresources Ukraine", GVP Equipment Solutions, "Ecosoft", Uniprint and Black Gold, UNN informs.
The conference program revealed the main topics of the industry: current market trends, innovations in the field of packaging and labeling, features of quality certification, personnel challenges of the industry and technological solutions for craft production.
Kateryna Kuzmina, Head of procurement and sustainable development at AB InBev Efes Ukraine, took part in the conference with the report "Packaging Trends in the beer industry".

In her presentation, Ekaterina Kuzmina emphasized the importance of introducing eco-friendly packaging as a key element of sustainable development.

Use of returnable containers. Ekaterina spoke about the life cycle of glass bottles, kegs and pallets and explained how properly organized recycling processes help reduce waste.
Secondary raw materials. The use of recycled materials has become an important priority for AB InBev Efes Ukraine. Ekaterina called on businesses to actively implement recycling and adapt their strategies to global environmental requirements.
