The crash occurred around noon on Thursday. According to the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, the pilots could not see the runway because of dense fog and had to rely on instruments during the approach.

Among those killed were two employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and six passengers. Their identities had not been officially released at the time of publication.
