A mysterious object launched into orbit by Russian satellites is causing concern among researchers

A trio of Russian Kosmos series satellites has launched a mysterious object into Earth orbit. The Russian Federation provides no details about the mission of the devices, which is causing concern among analysts.

A trio of secret Russian satellites launched earlier this year - "Kosmos 2581", "Kosmos 2582" and "Kosmos 2583" - released a mysterious object into the sphere around the planet Earth. Analysts are interested, because Russia does not provide any details about the satellites and their mission.
UNN reports with reference to Space.
Details
Launched on the Angara rocket, the Russian military satellites Kosmos 2581, 2582 and 2583 launched a secret object into orbit on the morning of February 2. Since then, the satellites, whose purpose is unknown, have demonstrated interesting behavior, being in a near-polar orbit approximately 585 kilometers above the Earth.
Researchers claim that these Russian satellites have launched an undefined object into space orbit - it is not yet known what it is, because Russia has not provided any details about the artificial devices and their mission.
In March, three Russian satellites conducted potential approach operations or maneuvered near other objects in space.
Analysts' versions
The released object can be used for a number of purposes, including military experiments. Among them:
- satellite inspection;
- shooting;
- docking technology testing;
- formation of flights.
"It could also be a scientific payload or even the result of unintentional fragmentation," the publication writes.
Reference
The designation "Kosmos" (or "Cosmos") was used by the Soviet Union, and later by Russia, for a very wide range of military and scientific satellites since 1962. The satellites covered a number of obvious purposes, some of which are experimental, secret or part of military programs, including the first ASAT (anti-satellite) tests and satellite inspection, reconnaissance and electronic intelligence.
The Kosmos satellite trio is nothing unusual, the Space article notes. Example: The United States and China have launched numerous sets of satellite trios. Many of them are believed to be for electronic intelligence purposes, along with other series of satellites.
Let us remind you
Great Britain hopes that the USA will provide satellites and drones for monitoring the front line in eastern Ukraine. This is necessary to monitor compliance with the ceasefire agreement.
