Details
According to the ombudsman, this is the result of his direct humanitarian work with the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights, Yana Lantratova.
Lubinets thanked the Security Service of Ukraine, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, and all other relevant bodies working within the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Ukrainians aged 35 to 66 have returned to their native land. All of them were illegally detained by Russians in 2022 during the occupation of Mariupol, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions. Regarding the Kyiv region, it is specifically the Bucha district, where the occupiers committed atrocities in 2022
As Lubinets noted, one of the Ukrainians was abducted from his own home solely because his sons serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another Ukrainian was abducted on his way to work, where he was heading on the day of the Russian invasion.
Among those released is also a volunteer who joined the "Angels of Taira" brigade in Mariupol in 2022. On that very day, Taira, whom we managed to bring home earlier, was also detained along with him
Lubinets also added: "Our team will do everything possible to ensure their rights are fully guaranteed and protected."
