The BES uncovered a tax evasion scheme by two ferroalloy plants worth UAH 1.2 billion. The companies exported their products at reduced prices to Europe without returning the foreign currency earnings to Ukraine.

The BES has uncovered a UAH 1.2 billion tax evasion scheme by two ferroalloy plants. This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, UNN reports.

According to the investigation, the companies had been exporting ferroalloys to Austria, Cyprus and other European countries for a long time. At the same time, 90% of the products were sold at significantly reduced prices, which allowed them to avoid paying taxes on a large scale.
Thus, according to the information, foreign currency earnings for exported products were not returned to Ukraine. The debt of only one of the plants is UAH 1.1 billion. Although in 2022-2023, export products had a total estimated value of $853 million.
Currently, BES detectives are conducting searches at these enterprises. Remnants of products, financial documentation and other evidence confirming the illegal activity are being seized.
