TikTok has removed several networks of accounts that illegally promoted Romanian presidential candidates. The platform blocked 90 accounts, identified 66 thousand fake profiles and 10 million bots.

The social network TikTok has deleted several networks of accounts that illegally promoted candidates for the presidency of Romania, UNN  reports News Maker.

Tik Tok representatives did not respond to the accusations of interference in the Romanian elections, but deleted several networks of accounts that were involved.

One of the networks promoted Kelin Georgescu and consisted of 78 accounts and 1781 subscribers. The other network promoted Mircea Gioane and consisted of 12 accounts.

These were very small networks aimed at the Romanian audience

- said Bree Pegum, TikTok's global head of product, authenticity and transparency.

In addition, the platform blocked a network associated with the Russian news agency Sputnik and an account associated with the Alliance for the Unification of Romania party. In addition, about 66 thousand fake accounts and 10 million bots were identified.
