The United States continues to intensify military pressure on Iran. American Marines boarded a commercial tanker in the Gulf of Oman to verify compliance with the naval blockade of Iranian ports, and also launched new strikes on several regions of the country. This is reported by Al Jazeera and The Guardian, according to UNN.

According to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Marines from the 11th Expeditionary Unit boarded the tanker M/T Wen Yao in the Gulf of Oman to "ensure full compliance with the current naval blockade."
CENTCOM also stated that since the blockade was imposed on Tuesday, U.S. military forces have already redirected three commercial vessels attempting to violate it. The day before, American aircraft also disabled an empty oil tanker that, according to the U.S., was trying to break the blockade.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported a new wave of American airstrikes. According to them, attacks were carried out on targets near Tehran, in Semnan province, where Iran's ballistic missile production facilities and space program are located, as well as in the provinces of Hamadan, Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Lorestan, Markazi, Sistan and Baluchestan, and on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian state media also reported that seven people were injured as a result of a strike on the Allah Akbar residential area in the port city of Bandar Abbas. Two more, according to them, were injured after an attack on the city's railway junction. Additionally, west of Bandar Abbas, two bridges were reportedly hit, resulting in three deaths and nine injuries.
In response, Iran continued attacks on U.S. military facilities in the region. Kuwait reported repelling missile and drone attacks, while Qatari authorities raised the security threat level after explosions heard by Doha residents. In Bahrain, the Interior Ministry called on the population to remain in shelters.
Iranian state media stated that the country's army is attacking American aircraft and helicopters at an airbase in Bahrain "in response to hostile strikes on civilian infrastructure and peaceful residents."
As The Guardian notes, the expansion of the American air campaign and the tightening of the naval blockade come after the collapse of the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. The publication also reports that U.S. strikes are increasingly targeting Iran's transportation and other critical infrastructure, and U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States is "winning in Iran" and that Americans will soon "see the results of this work."
