Sold humanitarian aid for more than 600 thousand hryvnias: in Nikolaev suspect volunteers and entrepreneur

Four volunteers and an entrepreneur sold humanitarian aid from the UN in the Nikolaev market. During the searches, food and UAH 5 million in cash were seized.
In Nikolaev reported suspicions to four volunteers of a charitable organization and an entrepreneur who sold humanitarian aid from the UN World Food Program for more than 600 thousand hryvnias. This is reported by the Office of the prosecutor general, writes UNN.

According to the investigation, the suspects organized the sale of humanitarian aid received from the UN World Food Program. Instead of transferring food rations to people who needed them, they withdrew valuable products from packages, removed the labeling "not for sale", "humanitarian aid", repacked them and sold them at the Nikolaev market.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized about 2 thousand food rations prepared for repacking, more than 6 thousand 800 boxes and 200 bags of food, 16 thousand cans of canned food, as well as money in the amount of about 5 million hryvnias.,
The total volume of confirmed sales is more than 600 thousand UAH.
According to the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Mykolaiv regional prosecutor's office, the defendants were informed of suspicion of illegal use of humanitarian aid for profit (Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
