Kyiv • UNN
Finance Minister Marchenko said there are no plans to raise taxes in 2025. At the same time, a law on new rates for individual entrepreneurs has already been signed, which has led to massive closures of businesses.
There are no plans to propose tax increases for the next year. This was stated by Finance Minister Sergiy Marchenko during a telethon, UNN reports.
For the next year, at the moment, we have no plans to propose a tax increase. We would prefer to avoid these steps in the short term, because we understand that these are rather painful steps for Ukrainian citizens and for businesses that are trying to survive in these conditions
The minister noted that the tax increase was a compromise.
Addendum
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law that changes the date of introduction of increased tax rates for individual entrepreneurs. Instead of October 1, 2024, the new rates will take effect from January 1, 2025.
After the signing of the law on tax hikes, there has been a massive closure of individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine. More than 1,000 entrepreneurs are closing down every day, which is significantly higher than the usual figure of 700 closures.
