President Macron's ally Yaelle Bron-Pivet has been re-elected speaker of the French National Assembly. She won 220 votes in the third round of voting, beating candidates from the far left and far right.

Members of the French National Assembly (the lower house of parliament) re-elected Yael Bron-Pivet, who is an ally of President Emmanuel Macron, as speaker. This was reported by BFM TV, according to UNN.

Voting in the French parliament took place in three rounds. In the third round, Bron-Pivet won the relative majority of votes necessary for re-election.

In the final round of voting, Bron-Pivet beat the far-left and communist candidate Andre Chassin (207 votes) and the far-right candidate Sébastien Chenu (141 votes). A total of 220 MPs voted for her candidacy.

In 2022, Bron-Pivet became the first woman to hold this position. During her presidency in the French Parliament, she visited Ukraine several times, including a speech in the Verkhovna Rada.
