The Islamic State terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for an armed attack on a concert hall in Moscow on Friday, March 22, which killed at least 40 people. This was reported by the Arab publications Al Arabiya and Asharq News, UNN reported.

According to the media outlets, an ISIS statement posted on Telegram said that its fighters "attacked a large gathering... on the outskirts of the Russian capital Moscow.
It is also reported that the militants allegedly "successfully retreated to their bases".

Following the statement, a number of Russian media outlets reported that they had not been able to confirm the authenticity of ISIS's involvement in the shooting in Krasnogorsk.

For its part, Russia's National Guard said it was at the scene and looking for the attackers. Russian authorities said that armed men opened fire during a rock concert in a Moscow suburb, killing at least 40 people, injuring more than 100 others, and starting a fire in the hall.
