Details

The incident caused the introduction of restrictions on traffic in the area and the activation of emergency response measures.

The leak was recorded in a field near a gas station, which led to a strong smell of gas in the vicinity. Preliminary evidence suggests that the leak does not pose a threat of explosion or fire.

The management company PERN, which is responsible for the pipeline, stopped the operation of one of the pumping substations as a preventive measure. The eastern section of the pipeline has already been disconnected, while work on disconnecting the western section continues.

Chemical response teams and firefighters are working at the scene to monitor the situation. For the work, traffic is partially restricted on National Road 92, where reverse traffic has been introduced.

Officials assure that there is no threat to the population. However, PERN has not yet commented on the scale of losses or possible impact on oil supplies.
