Border guards explained that entry of suspect in assassination attempt on Yermolayev in Monaco was legal

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine explained that at the time of crossing the Ukrainian border, there was no information in the databases about the wanted Anastasiia Berezovska, suspected of attempting to murder a family in Monaco, among whom Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev was named, as officially reported "in response to numerous requests from the media and the public," writes UNN.
The suspect in the high-profile crime in the Principality of Monaco entered the territory of Ukraine legally through one of the checkpoints. At the time of crossing the state border on July 1, 2026, there were no restrictions or circumstances related to the admission of this citizen of Ukraine. During her border control, no database hits occurred, including from Interpol, indicating she was wanted.
The SBGS noted that "all checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine are connected to the Interpol database." This allows the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to instantly check individuals, vehicles, and documents that are internationally wanted at the time of crossing the border.
"We emphasize that the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine acts on the basis, within the limits of authority, and in the manner defined by the Constitution and current legislation of Ukraine," the statement said.
