A fire broke out in a hotel in Uludağ that was closed in January. 4 people were rescued, 1 person died, and three more were hospitalized with smoke poisoning.

A fire broke out in a hotel in Uludag, one of the largest ski resorts in Turkey, which was closed in January due to the lack of a certificate to carry out tourism activities. The mayor of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Mustafa Bozbey, told CNN TÜRK that 4 people were rescued and 1 person died, UNN writes.

Details

For an unknown reason, a fire broke out in a hotel in the 1st hotel zone, the term of validity of the certificate for simple accommodation of which expired, and the business license was not renewed by the municipality, since the distribution process in national parks had already been completed at that time.

The mayor of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Mustafa Bozbey, said that the hotel was completely evacuated.

Bozbey said: "Our friends immediately arrived there. Four people who remained in the building were rescued, 1 person died."

According to preliminary data, work is underway to extinguish the fire in the hotel.

According to Türkiye Today, out of 12 hotel employees who were inside, nine managed to escape, and three were hospitalized with smoke poisoning and remained unconscious.

Hotel Kervansaray published a statement confirming that the fire started outside on the veranda for unknown reasons, and then spread to the hotel. The statement assured that the authorities were informed.

Addition

This happened after 79 people died in a large-scale fire at the Grand Kartal Otel hotel at the ski resort Kartalkaya in Turkey in late January.
