Ukraine's Energy Minister expects the world to stop cooperating with russia in the nuclear market, emphasizing that this will happen due to the complex dynamics of sanctions.

The world is gradually getting used to the nuclear technology market without russia, and may soon refuse to cooperate with Moscow. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.

There will be no russians in civilized markets. I am confident because the world is moving in this direction. We are removing obstacle after obstacle to make this happen

- the minister said.

According to him, nuclear energy is a rather complex area, so the process of replacing nuclear fuel and technology suppliers is much slower than in other energy sectors.

Of course, we would like this to happen faster, but nuclear power is a complex type of industry and generation... And it is very important that sanctions work, because this is the only intelligent export item in the russian energy sector. Barbarians have no business in civilized markets

- Galushchenko emphasized.

Addendum

The official reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale war, leaders of a number of European countries have expressed skepticism about the prospects of russia's withdrawal from nuclear fuel markets.

But we did it in a year and a half. If you want to achieve a goal, there is always a way to do it. Of course, it requires effort, partnership and unity. But the level of solidarity that exists with Ukraine today in the energy sector is enormous

- emphasizes the head of the Ministry of Energy

The Minister emphasized that today the world is experiencing a renaissance of nuclear energy, and it is very important to support this process, which will help achieve the goals of the "green" transition.

In this context, it is crucial to prevent any incident at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, as this could call into question the prospects for further development of the nuclear industry.

Herman Halushchenko emphasized that russia should leave the territory of ZNPP as soon as possible and transfer the plant under the full control of Ukrainian personnel, thus fulfilling the requirements of the IAEA resolution adopted by the last General Conference of the agency.
