In case of severe frosts in Ukraine, blackouts are not expected to occur. Blackouts can be caused by shelling and natural disasters. This was reported by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko in an interview with the Rada TV channel, according to a correspondent of UNN.

When asked whether power outages and blackouts are possible in case of severe frosts, Galushchenko replied:
No, in case... Look, blackouts can happen in case of a natural disaster, and we had such situations a few weeks ago in Odesa region, then a cyclone went to the west of Ukraine and also affected the blackouts. This is the only factor other than military influence.

Earlier, Galushchenko said that Ukraine is ready to go through winter without blackouts if there is no massive shelling or natural disasters.
On December 12, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal urged Ukrainians to save electricity, especially during peak evening and morning hours.
