A U.S. federal court has imposed a permanent injunction on most of Trump's executive order on elections. The judge ruled that the president does not have the authority to unilaterally change election rules.
A federal court in the United States has permanently blocked the administration of President Donald Trump from implementing most of his executive order on elections, including the requirement to confirm citizenship when registering to vote. Bloomberg reports, writes UNN.

The decision was made by U.S. District Judge Denise Casper, who turned her temporary injunction from last year into a permanent one. She concluded that the U.S. Constitution does not grant the president the authority to unilaterally change election rules.
The Constitution does not give the president any specific powers over elections
In addition to the requirement for documentary proof of citizenship, Trump's order provided for the refusal to count mail-in ballots received after Election Day, even if they were sent on time, as well as the possibility of depriving states of federal funding if they did not comply with the new requirements.
