Kyiv • UNN
A room temperature of 20°C or lower can cause hypothermia of a newborn baby. The doctor told about the main symptoms of hypothermia and the necessary actions when the baby's body temperature is below 35°C.
For a newborn baby, 20 or less degrees of heat in the room can cause hypothermia. This was announced by the founder of the public organization "Medical Initiatives" Elena Komar on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.
"If we are talking about a mother who gave birth to a baby a week ago, then even sleeping at 20 degrees or less in a room for a small child can cause hypothermia," Komar said.
She also named the symptoms of hypothermia.
"We can notice a tremor, and then this tremor is replaced by deceleration. Here we see that the baby was crying and then suddenly she becomes very calm. This is the first bell that she needs to measure her body temperature. If we see that a small child has a body temperature of less than 35, then we need to dial an ambulance, voice the problem and start doing everything to warm the baby," Komar said.
