MP Marian Zablotskyi has revealed that fraudulent exports of agricultural products through customs bypassing Odesa region cost Ukraine more than $7 billion.
MP Marian Zablotskyi spoke about customs fraud that "launders" money through the export of agricultural products, UNN reports.
"The volume of money laundering operations through the export of agricultural products has exceeded $7 billion.
According to my estimates, the exchange rate in Ukraine would have been no more than 35 hryvnias to the dollar if it hadn't been for the fraudulent transactions of our schemers," he writes.
Thus, the MP found out that evil businessmen arrange exports of goods through the customs offices of Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Dnipro, and Kharkiv regions. At the same time, the place of delivery of the goods is indicated as seaports located in the area of the Odesa Customs. They are doing this because of last year's order by Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional administration, which blocked the possibility of exporting black grain through Odesa customs. However, his colleagues from other regions did not follow suit. So, businessmen decided to clear exports where customs are loyal to transactions.
The MP passed the information on black grain exports to law enforcement agencies and named the agricultural firms that are likely to violate the law and empty the Ukrainian treasury.
"In the near future, we will formalize such work within the framework of the Verkhovna Rada's PIC with the appropriate powers. A big and fiery greeting to the grain mafia," Zablotskyi emphasized.
