The Deputy Energy Minister warned of the possibility of schedules of power outages next week due to the heat wave. The Energy Ministry calls for energy savings, especially during peak hours.
There is a possibility that blackout schedules will be applied in Ukraine next week. According to a UNN correspondent, Deputy Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk said during a telethon, noting the conditions under which they will not be applied.
Indeed, we expect an increase in consumption, and we understand that the weather will be quite hot almost all over Ukraine. This will undoubtedly lead to an increase in consumption, both by households and businesses. There are no restrictions today, but starting next week we will act on the situation
According to her, the transmission system operator Ukrenergo will make the relevant decisions.
If we manage to cover consumption on our own, with the help of imports and emergency assistance, then of course the schedules will not be applied. If not, then in order to balance the system, there is a possibility that we will apply outage schedules next week. Therefore, we ask household consumers, who understand that the weather will be hot, to try to use electricity sparingly, especially during peak hours - in the morning and in the evening
In addition, she said that the ministry is working with businesses to make more use of electricity imports.
We try to do our best not to use schedules or, if we do, to ensure that it is a minimal disruption
