The mayor of Dniprorrudne in Zaporizhzhia, Yevhen Matvieiev, died in captivity of the occupants after prolonged torture. His body was returned to Ukraine after the latest exchange, reported head of the RMA Ivan Fedorov, reports UNN.
The Russians captured Dniprorrudne of the Zaporizhzhia region at the end of February 2022. And later they took the mayor - Yevhen Matvieiev, into captivity. For 2 years and 8 months he was in captivity of the occupants and was tortured. During the latest exchange, the body was returned to Ukraine...
The head of the RMA stressed that Yevhen Serhiyovych was a true patriot, not indifferent to the fate of his country and his community. During the occupation - he did not leave the city or the people, did everything to ensure the vital activity of the community, constantly informed the population about the course of events and provided support.
Reminder
On November 29, it was reported that Ukraine had returned the bodies of 502 fallen soldiers from various fronts. The most killed were returned from the Donetsk direction - 397 defenders, and 17 bodies were also returned from the territory of the Russian Federation.
