"Carrying out the tasks set by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy within the framework of the 40-day operation to influence the Russian Federation, the SBU successfully struck with drones the military airfields "Saki" and "Gvardiyske" in temporarily occupied Crimea," the SBU stated.
At the "Saki" airfield, seven hangars storing aviation equipment, which housed fighter jets and frontline bombers Su-30SM, Su-30, Su-24, were hit. According to preliminary information, at least seven aircraft were destroyed or damaged
This, as noted, is "already the second SBU strike on the "Saki" airfield this week."
At the military airfield "Gvardiyske," two hangars storing Shahed UAVs and aviation equipment were hit
The military airfields "Saki" and "Gvardiyske," as indicated, are among the key aviation bases of the Russian occupation forces in Crimea. It is from there that tactical aviation aircraft regularly take off, launching missile and bomb strikes on the territory of Ukraine and supporting the actions of the Russian group in the southern direction.
"The SBU continues to carry out the tasks set by the President of Ukraine and systematically reduce Russia's military potential. Each of our special operations is a minus for enemy aviation, logistics, warehouses, equipment, and infrastructure that support Russian aggression. We will continue to exert maximum pressure on the enemy both on the front line and in the deep rear, depriving him of the ability to wage war against Ukraine," emphasized the head of the SBU, Yevhenii Khmara.
