Series of strikes on Crimea's energy infrastructure: what you need to know

Operation "Crimean Switch off" involves strikes on energy infrastructure facilities that ensure the functioning of occupied Crimea. In previous reports, the Unmanned Systems Forces stated they had struck substations and other energy facilities, including those related to energy routes between Russian territory and Crimea.

On July 13, the USF reported striking 11 energy facilities, among which they named substations, an electricity flow facility within the Kuban–Crimea energy bridge, and other energy infrastructure facilities. Ukrainian military also reported striking Russian air defense systems.

On July 10, the Ukrainian side reported striking another five substations in temporarily occupied Crimea.

At the same time, the exact consequences of the latest strikes for the operation of the peninsula's energy system, the scale of damage, and the duration of possible power supply restrictions have not been publicly disclosed so far.

Strikes on vessels in the Black and Azov Seas

In parallel, the Unmanned Systems Forces reported a series of attacks on vessels that the Ukrainian side links to Russian maritime logistics and the "shadow fleet".

On July 10, the USF reported striking 13 vessels on the approaches to Crimea. According to the Ukrainian side, among them were tankers, a dry cargo ship, a ferry, and a sea tug.

On July 13, it was reported that 15 Russian vessels and nine energy facilities were struck.

According to the USF commander, within the framework of operations "MoLoChKa" and "Crimean Switch off" from July 1 to July 19, a total of 176 vessels, which the Ukrainian side classifies as part of the "shadow fleet", as well as 96 power units, were struck.

It should be noted that the Russian side has not yet provided independent confirmation of the scale of damage to facilities claimed by the Ukrainian side.

                            Recall

Earlier, the Unmanned Systems Forces repeatedly stated that they had carried out strikes on Russian military and energy infrastructure, as well as maritime logistics facilities in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
