Syrian rebels with the support of Turkey completely captured the city of Aleppo. During the assault, a statue of President Bashar al-Assad's brother and father was knocked down, and the flag of Free Syria was raised over the Citadel.
Syrian rebels backed by Turkey have announced a complete takeover of Aleppo, Syria's second-largest city. The media reported a "symbolic moment" - during the Storming of Aleppo, the Rebels knocked down a statue and bust of President Bashar al-Assad's brother and father.

According to local residents and fighters, thousands of Syrian rebels dispersed in Aleppo in makeshift armored vehicles and pickup trucks, settling in landmarks such as the old citadel on Saturday, the day after they entered Syria's largest city.
According to journalist Ragip Solu of the Middle East Eye website, the flag of Free Syria was raised over the historic citadel of Aleppo and the Umayyad Mosque, key symbols of the city.
The fall of Aleppo is a major blow to the Assad government, which has strengthened control of the city in recent years. Russia, probably the regime's most important ally, failed to stop the rebel advance.
