Fraudsters in Ukraine are using a scheme that offers money for likes and video views to steal bank card information and deceive people by selling non-existent goods through phishing links. The police advise to be wary of such offers and avoid suspicious links and the transfer of personal data.

One of the most of the most common fraudulent schemes is the offer of easy money for watching video content. The scammers distribute such messages in popular messengers. All you have to do is allegedly click on the links sent and like to videos on TikTok or leave reviews on Google Maps.

They can pay from 100 to 500 hryvnias for the completed tasks to gain the trust of citizens. Later, the fraudsters send phishing links to get information about bank cards and access to the account, the report says,

The next step is that the administrators offer to purchase goods that do not exist at much higher prices. At the same time, they provide phishing links to fraudulent online stores where you need to enter confidential payment information.

To avoid becoming a victim of fraud cyber police recommends following the following tips:

  • give give preference to vacancies with official employment;
  • do not trust offers of strangers to get money for free;
  • do not transfer funds to unknown accounts;
  • do not disclose confidential information to unauthorized persons;
  • never enter personal data on suspicious websites;
  • do not click on questionable hyperlinks;
  • carefully check the URL of the desired site.

The police emphasize that if information about your bank card has been disclosed, contact the bank and block the card and immediately report it to the cyber police immediately.
