Kyiv business blogger notified of suspicion of fraud involving UAH 2.4 million

A Kyiv business blogger is suspected of fraud, having received over UAH 2.45 million from five investors. Among the victims are two military personnel, one of whom gave up combat payments.
In Kyiv, suspicion was reported against a "business blogger" who took over 2.4 million hryvnias from investors "for building a business," UNN reports, citing the Office of the Prosecutor General.

It was established that the suspect, through his social media pages, talked about his own success, profitable projects, and promised to teach others how to earn money by his example. The business he offered was vending machines that sell goods, saving money on sales staff.
Talking about his own success and his company, the man urged people to buy a franchise from him, promising investors help in building a similar business. To start, an average of $10,000 in startup capital was needed.
Thus, it has been established that under the guise of investments for the development of business projects, the suspect received over 2.45 million hryvnias from five victims, including two servicemen.
In particular, one of the servicemen, believing the blogger, gave him 300,000 hryvnias of combat payments. In this way, the serviceman dreamed of starting his own business. At the same time, the "business mentor" did not fulfill his obligations, spending the received money on his own needs.
The suspect's actions have been qualified under Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 12 years with confiscation of property.
The suspect has been remanded in custody with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 1.5 million hryvnias.
